PIA increases flight frequency to Beijing amid CPEC growth

Air contacts between Pakistan and China are increasing
 

PIA now operating six flights per week to Beijing  

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced an increase in its flight frequency to Beijing, with the national carrier now operating six flights per week to the Chinese capital.

PIA’s interim Chief Executive Officer, Qasim Hayat, said the expansion would not only cater to the growing demand amid the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) but also boost the airline’s revenue.

Discussing PIA’s future plans, Mr. Hayat revealed that the airline aims to expand its fleet by 60 aircraft by 2020. In the short term, two Airbus A330s will be added, along with four more aircraft, including Boeing 777s and Airbus A320s, by 2017.
