Flight to Lahore makes emergency landing in Baku after death of passenger
A Turkish Airlines flight from
Istanbul to Lahore made an emergency landing in Baku after a passenger’s health
deteriorated mid-flight and tragically passed away.
Flight TK 714, an Airbus A330
scheduled to arrive at Allama Iqbal International Airport at 4:35 AM, diverted
to Baku upon request from the pilot, who coordinated with Baku Air Traffic
Control for a medical emergency landing. Once the aircraft landed, emergency
medical personnel examined the passenger but confirmed that they had already
passed away. After completing necessary formalities, the airline’s
administration took custody of the body.

Following the delay, the flight
resumed its journey to Lahore, arriving approximately three and a half hours
late, which also impacted its scheduled return to Istanbul.
In related news, Pakistan
International Airlines (PIA) recently suspended flights to Turkey temporarily.
The national carrier halted its operations on September 28 due to outstanding
payments for inventory and airport slots at Istanbul Airport. The suspension,
set to last until October 13, affected PIA's four weekly flights from Islamabad
and Lahore to Turkey.
