China’s PLAAF displays skills of modern aircraft in Indus Shield 2024 exercise
In a strong display of military
cooperation, China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is actively
participating in Pakistan's ongoing multinational air exercise, Indus Shield
2024. This exercise, involving nations such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and
Pakistan, aims to enhance interoperability and strengthen defense ties among
its participants.
China has deployed advanced aircraft
to the exercise, including the KJ-500 airborne early warning and control
(AEW&C) aircraft, alongside Jian-10C and Jian-16 fighter jets,
demonstrating its capabilities in surveillance and aerial combat.

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) has
joined with six Panavia Tornado fighter jets, known for their versatility and
precision. Turkey has contributed F-16 fighter jets, while Egypt has deployed
Mirage 2000 aircraft. Host nation Pakistan is represented by its J-10C fighter
jets.
Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed
Asim Munir observed the Indus Shield regional aerial exercises in Rawalpindi on
Thursday, according to the military’s media wing.
