Turkey to enhance existing cooperation in defense, aviation
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, recently visited Turkey where he was warmly received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. This meeting highlighted the ongoing commitment to enhancing defense cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey.
During the discussions, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized the shared values and aspirations that form the foundation of the strong relationship between Pakistan and Turkey. He reaffirmed his dedication to deepening bilateral ties, particularly in military and air force cooperation. Focus areas include defense production and the joint development of next-generation aerospace technology. The Air Chief expressed a desire to explore new avenues of collaboration in the defense and aviation sectors.

Turkey agree on enhancing cooperation in military aviation
President Erdogan commended the Pakistan Air Force for its advances in emerging technologies such as cyber, space, artificial intelligence, and electronic warfare. He noted the alignment of these advancements with the PAF's strategic focus on multi-domain capabilities. President Erdogan praised the progress of Pakistan’s aerospace industry in design, research, and software development and advocated for a larger role for Pakistan in the software integration and development of the Next Generation Fighter program, known as KAAN.
Additionally, President Erdogan suggested that the existing Joint Working Group for aerospace collaboration transition from quarterly to monthly meetings, with a new National Level Framework expected to be signed soon.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu also held separate discussions with Turkish Air Force Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Chief of Turkish General Staff General Metin Gurak, and Turkish Minister of National Defense General Yasar Guler, further reinforcing the defense ties between the two nations.
