CAA mulling to raise age limit to 65 years for positions of directors, flight inspectors

CAA thinking of revising age limit for vacancies of directors, flight inspectors  

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Board of Directors convened for its first meeting to discuss several key issues, including the age limit for recruiting directors and flight inspectors.

Chaired by Secretary Aviation Ahsan Mangi, the board proposed extending the age limit for these positions on a contract basis from 60 to 65 years. This change is intended to facilitate the continued service of retired CAA directors.

Following the recommendation of the DG-CAA, the board has forwarded the proposal to the executive committee for further approval.

The meeting also covered the potential resumption of flights between Pakistan and European countries. A session with European Union officials is set for September 18 and 19 to address this issue. Additionally, discussions regarding the resumption of flights to the UK are scheduled for January next year, following talks with British authorities.

Interestingly, the decision to hold the board meeting at the Pakistan Airports Authority headquarters, rather than at CAA's usual venue, drew some surprise from attendees. The meeting lasted three hours.
