CAA issues new NOTAM amid surge in flights from Afghanistan
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has issued a new Notice to
Airmen (NOTAM) in response to a sharp increase in commercial flights entering
Pakistan from Afghanistan.
This development comes as international airlines are shifting their routes
from Iranian airspace to Afghan airspace due to heightened tensions in the
Middle East.

issues revised guidelines for flights from Afghanistan
Under the new directive, international flights from Afghanistan must notify
Pakistan Air Traffic Control at least 15 minutes before entering Pakistani
airspace. This measure is essential due to the prolonged dysfunction of air
traffic services in Kabul, necessitating Pakistan's oversight of these flights.
The PCAA has also extended the NOTAM until November 21, 2024. During this
period, the Dushanbe Flight Area Control Center will oversee air navigation
services for flights departing from Pakistan and entering Afghan airspace.
