Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) to start direct flights between
Karachi and Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan Airlines is set to initiate direct flights between
Karachi, Pakistan's southern metropolis, and Azerbaijan, providing a welcomed
option for travelers. The confirmation comes from Khazar Farhadov, the
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, who announced on Friday that Azerbaijan
Airlines (AZAL) plans to commence these direct flights from April.
The inaugural flight for this new route is tentatively scheduled
for April 18th, 2024, marking a significant enhancement in connectivity between
the two nations. Karachi will become the third city in Pakistan to enjoy direct
flights from AZAL, following the launch of direct flights from Baku to
Islamabad and Baku to Lahore last year.

This development is part of broader positive trends in Pakistan's
aviation sector. Recently, Malaysian airline Batik Air introduced direct
flights between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, Ravn Alaska Airlines
from the United States is expressing interest in commencing flights from Pakistan,
having reached out to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for the necessary
approvals.
Ethiopian Airlines has also resumed operations in Pakistan after a
19-year hiatus, while Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a well-known airline, has received
approval from the federal government to launch flights to and from Pakistan.
These developments collectively indicate a positive momentum and growing
connectivity in Pakistan's aviation landscape.
