Azerbaijan Airlines' inaugural flight lands in Islamabad

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) successfully completed its inaugural flight, J2 5143, to Islamabad International Airport on Thursday.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the flight, originating from Baku, touched down in Islamabad at 2:30 PM.

 

Azerbaijan commences direct flights to Pakistan



In celebration of this momentous occasion, a brief yet dignified ceremony was organized for the arriving guests, featuring a traditional water cannon salute. The esteemed guests were welcomed by PCAA Additional DG Air Vice Marshal Taimur Iqbal, Airport Manager Aftab Gilani, and other airport officials.

Azerbaijan Airlines plans to offer flights between Baku and Islamabad twice a week, with departures on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Additionally, the airline has also scheduled flights to Karachi and Lahore, operating twice a week. Notably, this marks Azerbaijan Airlines' second foray into Pakistan, following its inaugural flight to Lahore from Baku in September.
