FIA sets up facility at Multan Airport to assist
international passengers
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)
has fully operationalised a pre-departure facilitation desk at Multan International Airport
to guide passengers on immigration procedures, travel documentation and legal
requirements before they leave Pakistan.
The facility aims to help international travellers understand applicable
regulations in advance, reduce documentation-related problems and make the
departure process more convenient.
According to FIA Immigration, the desk is available to passengers travelling
abroad for education, employment, tourism and Umrah. Travellers can seek
guidance on the documents and formalities required for their journeys before
approaching immigration counters.
The agency has urged passengers to verify their travel documents ahead of
departure and ensure compliance with Pakistani laws and relevant international
travel regulations.

says congestion at airports caused by factors outside immigration control
Officials said the initiative is intended to address potential documentation
and regulatory issues at an early stage, helping passengers avoid unnecessary
delays at airports.
Nationwide initiative to improve passenger facilitation
The establishment of the Multan desk forms part of a broader initiative
announced by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to expand pre-departure assistance
for international travellers.
Under the initiative, the FIA has established facilitation desks at its
zonal offices to provide information on immigration procedures and clearance
requirements. The service is also intended to be accessible through dedicated
helplines and email channels, allowing passengers to seek personalised guidance
before travelling.
Further information about the facilities is expected to be available through
airports, border crossings and the FIA’s official website.
Emphasis on compliance and smoother departures
The FIA said the facilitation service is designed to help passengers prepare
for international travel while ensuring that immigration requirements are
properly followed.
The initiative is particularly relevant for individuals travelling for
overseas employment, students pursuing education abroad and religious pilgrims
undertaking Umrah, all of whom may need to meet specific documentation
requirements.
