Lahore Airport to introduce ‘Route to Makkah’ for the first time in 2026
The ‘Route to Makkah’ initiative will be introduced at Allama Iqbal International Airport for the first
time during Hajj 2026, allowing pilgrims to complete key travel procedures
before departure.
This Saudi-led program enables Hajj travelers to
finish immigration, customs, and health checks at their home airport,
streamlining their arrival process in Saudi Arabia.
To review preparations, a coordination meeting was held at the Lahore airport on Thursday. According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the session was attended by Fuwaz Saud Al Shafiri, along with a secretary from the Saudi Embassy, who met Airport Manager Erfan Khan and senior representatives from various Pakistani agencies.
