Pakistan
International Airlines (PIA) has completed preparations for its large-scale
pre-Hajj flight operation, set to transport thousands of Pakistani pilgrims to
Saudi Arabia. The flights will begin on April 18 and continue until May 21,
marking a major logistical effort by the national carrier.
During this phase, flights will primarily serve the holy cities of Madinah and Jeddah, the main entry points for pilgrims. PIA has scheduled 202 flights to carry over 60,000 pilgrims, with around 49,000 traveling under the government Hajj scheme and roughly 11,000 arranging private travel. Departures will operate from key cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Quetta, Faisalabad, and Multan.

The airline will use a mix of wide-body and
narrow-body aircraft, including Boeing 777s and Airbus A320s, to efficiently
manage the large passenger flow.
Plans for the post-Hajj return phase are also
in place, beginning May 30 and continuing through June 30, allowing pilgrims to
return to Pakistan in an organized and timely manner.
Officials emphasized that the comprehensive operation aims to ensure smooth travel, coordinated services, and a comfortable journey for worshippers performing Hajj this year.
