Pakistan and China have agreed to increase the number of direct flights between the two countries and encourage their airlines to launch new routes, marking a significant step toward enhancing bilateral connectivity.

This initiative is part of the recently signed China-Pakistan Action Plan (2025–2029), that was formalized during high-level meetings in Beijing.

According to documents, civil aviation has been identified as a key area of cooperation under the broader theme of people-to-people exchanges.

The plan outlines joint efforts to boost air travel by supporting airlines in both countries to introduce new direct routes and increase the frequency of existing flights. The aim is to simplify travel for business professionals, students, tourists, and workers, thereby strengthening bilateral ties.

Enhanced air connectivity is also expected to complement other areas outlined in the action plan, including cultural exchange, educational partnerships, tourism growth, and trade facilitation. Additionally, the move supports broader regional integration and ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
