Pakistan successfully launches remote sensing satellite from China
Pakistan achieved a significant milestone in space technology with the successful launch of its Remote Sensing Satellite from China’s Xichang
Satellite Launch Centre (XSLC) on Friday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded the mission as “a major milestone for space exploration and technological advancement,” emphasizing its potential to improve the nation’s overall quality of life.
“The satellite will deliver high-resolution, continuous imaging capabilities, greatly enhancing Pakistan’s efforts in urban planning, infrastructure development, disaster management and mitigation, agricultural monitoring, food security, environmental conservation, deforestation tracking, climate change analysis, and water resource management,” the official statement read.

This collaborative effort involved Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO, along with China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) and MICROSAT China, marking a key partnership in space technology.
The satellite is described as “a cornerstone of an integrated Earth observation system,” intended to support sustainable socio-economic development and foster progress across the country.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, praised the dedication and expertise of the engineers, scientists, and technical teams from SUPARCO, CETC, and MICROSAT China, highlighting their exemplary cooperation and unwavering commitment to the project.
With this success, Pakistan reasserts its position among the leading space-faring nations, harnessing innovation to build a safer, more sustainable, and prosperous future for its citizens.
