Induction ceremony of Chinese-made Z-10ME helicopters held at Multan Army Aviation Base
The Pakistan Army has officially inducted its first batch of
Chinese-made Z-10ME attack helicopters in a ceremony held at the Multan Army
Aviation Base. The event was overseen by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim
Munir, who personally inspected one of the newly delivered helicopters. During
the ceremony, General Munir warmly greeted Chinese personnel involved in the
program, as well as attending government officials, senior military leaders,
and representatives from the Chinese defense industry.
The Z-10ME is equipped with a range of advanced weaponry,
including CM-502 air-to-surface missiles, TY-90 air-to-air missiles mounted on
one side of the fuselage, and a 70mm guided rocket launcher. In addition to its
powerful armament, the helicopter is fitted with a Directed Infrared
Countermeasure (DIRCM) system, enhancing its survivability against infrared-guided
missiles in combat.

receives first batch of Chinese Z-10ME attack helicopters
Manufactured by China’s state-owned aviation industry, the Z-10ME is an export-oriented variant of the original Z-10. It has been upgraded with modifications for improved performance in hot and high-altitude environments, as well as enhanced low-level survivability. The helicopter's design also includes improvements in armor, sensors, and electronic warfare systems, making it a formidable asset for overseas clients.
The Z-10ME is specifically tailored for close air support,
armed reconnaissance, and anti-armor operations, strengthening Pakistan’s
rotary-wing capabilities. This induction marks a significant step in the
Pakistan Army Aviation Corps' efforts to modernize its attack helicopter fleet
after facing delays in other procurement programs. Notably, previous attempts
to acquire Turkish-made T129 ATAK helicopters were stymied by export
restrictions on U.S.-made engines.

Air Chiefs discuss regional security, defence cooperation
While the Pakistan Army has operated various rotary-wing
platforms for years, the Z-10ME represents a shift towards a purpose-built
attack helicopter with integrated sensors and modern guided munitions. Its
DIRCM system and advanced missile armament position it as a powerful asset
capable of operating in contested airspace and executing a range of tactical
missions.
