Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praises bravery, dedication of Pakistan Air Force

Sharif on Thursday visited the Pakistan Air Force’s operational base in Kamra
to pay tribute to the PAF personnel involved in recent defensive operations,
praising their swift and decisive response to what he described as “unprovoked aggression.”
During the high-level visit, the
prime minister was briefed on the air force’s combat readiness, strategic
capabilities, and recent operational achievements. He was accompanied by Deputy
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif,
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Chief of
Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed
Ashraf.

In his address to air force personnel, PM Sharif commended the professionalism and commitment of the PAF's pilots, engineers, and technical staff. He noted their critical role in safeguarding the country’s airspace and reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to defend its sovereignty at all costs.
"The PAF's calibrated response
not only neutralised the threat but also delivered a decisive blow to the
hostile military infrastructure," the prime minister said. "This
resolute action underscores our unshakable resolve to protect Pakistan’s
territorial integrity."
The premier confirmed that the PAF
had successfully downed a sixth Indian aircraft—a Mirage-2000—on the night of
May 6–7 near Pampore, east of occupied Srinagar. He described the incident as a
testament to the PAF’s operational excellence.
He also lauded Air Chief Marshal Zaheer
Ahmed Baber Sidhu for his leadership in modernising the air force and
incorporating advanced technologies that have enhanced its operational
effectiveness.
“To our fearless pilots and
dedicated air personnel—your courage and precision reflect the indomitable
spirit of Pakistan’s Armed Forces,” PM Sharif said in a tribute. “You have
defended the sanctity of our skies with unyielding resolve.”

Upon arrival at the Kamra base,
Prime Minister Sharif was received by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber
Sidhu, who briefed him on the air force’s ongoing operations and future
readiness.
