Saudi Arabia to establish immigration services at Islamabad, Karachi Airports

Saudi Arabia has once again requested immigration facilities at Islamabad and Karachi airports to streamline the immigration process for Hajj pilgrims traveling from Pakistan.

The Saudi Embassy in Islamabad has formally approached the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and Airports Authority, requesting the establishment of immigration services at Islamabad International Airport and Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

Additionally, the embassy has sought urgent visas for Saudi immigration officers and requested designated space for immigration counters. It has also asked for an exemption from taxes and duties on immigration equipment brought from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan.

To ensure smooth coordination, the Saudi Embassy has called for the appointment of liaison officers to facilitate communication between Pakistani and Saudi officials. Pakistani authorities have been urged to make the necessary arrangements at the earliest.

This initiative is part of the Road to Makkah Project, under which the Saudi government is providing on-site immigration clearance for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims before their departure.
