Zimbabwe Air Chief discusses military cooperation with Pakistani counterpart
A high-level delegation led by Air
Marshal John Jacob Nzvede, Commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, paid an
official visit to Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air
Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Air Chief
Marshal Sidhu reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral defence
cooperation, emphasizing the PAF’s readiness to support the capacity-building
and operational development of the Zimbabwean Air Force. He noted the long-standing
military-to-military ties between the two nations, grounded in shared
perspectives on regional peace and security.

Air Marshal Nzvede expressed a strong interest in restructuring Zimbabwe’s air force training framework and sought PAF’s comprehensive support in this regard. He specifically requested training opportunities for Zimbabwean cadets at the prestigious PAF Academy Asghar Khan, known internationally for its advanced training modules and professional excellence.
In addition, the Zimbabwean Air
Chief proposed the deployment of PAF pilots, engineers, and technical experts
to assist with the modernization of Zimbabwe’s air force infrastructure and
systems.
A key point of discussion was the timely
delivery of 12 Super Mushak trainer aircraft, aimed at strengthening the
Zimbabwe Air Force’s operational training capabilities.

Earlier, upon arrival at Air Headquarters, Air Marshal Nzvede was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force.
