Bangladesh and Pakistan to resume direct flights soon
In a significant development aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, Dhaka's
Deputy High Commissioner, S M Mahbubul Alam, has announced that direct flights
between Bangladesh and Pakistan will resume soon.
This marks the end of a five-year gap since the last direct flight in 2018.
The resumption of air services is expected to boost connectivity, trade, and
diplomatic relations between the two countries, reports PTI.

The announcement comes amid a broader thaw in bilateral relations. Alam,
during his visit to the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry
(HCSTSI) in Pakistan, highlighted how the revival of direct flights would
facilitate enhanced trade and closer business ties.
He also extended an invitation to Pakistan's business community to take part
in Bangladesh’s Annual Trade Exhibition, set to take place in Dhaka in January
2025. Alam assured that the visa process would be streamlined to make it easier
for Pakistani participants.

This move follows another key milestone in trade relations: in mid-November,
the first direct cargo vessel from Karachi successfully docked at Chittagong
