Punjab Chief Minister asks father to buy PIA
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has proposed that her father, former
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, consider purchasing Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in light of the recent privatization efforts, which garnered
limited interest. She suggested rebranding it as "Air Punjab" after
transforming it into a leading airline.
Nawaz shared this idea with reporters in New York, noting the recent
interest from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, which has offered over Rs10
billion for PIA.
