Security at Karachi
Airport significantly enhanced
In response to recent security concerns, particularly the terrorist incident
near Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, the Pakistan Airports Authority
(PAA) has announced new measures to strengthen security at the airport.
Sources informed that, under the new rules, individuals going to
the airport to escort or receive passengers will now be required to carry a
copy of the passenger's ticket. This ticket must be shown to security personnel
upon request. Those without a ticket copy will be denied entry to the airport.

In addition, it has been made mandatory for individuals receiving passengers
to carry their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs). These will also
need to be presented to security staff when requested.
Another key change is the restriction on the number of people allowed to
accompany a passenger to the airport. Only four individuals will be permitted
to accompany a passenger into the airport terminal.
The new security measures will be implemented soon as part of ongoing
efforts to enhance safety and prevent potential threats at Karachi's Jinnah
International Airport.
