Pak Civil Aviation Authority issues guidelines for passengers, slippery runways
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a warning to pilots
of all airlines to exercise extreme caution when landing and taking off at
Islamabad International Airport due to slippery runway conditions caused by
ongoing heavy rains.
The advisory was prompted by concerns over the runway's slipperiness,
particularly on Runway No. 18L, where the wet surface raises the risk of planes
potentially slipping during flight operations.

The CAA emphasized the need for heightened vigilance, especially given the
unpredictable weather during the current monsoon season. Heavy rainfall,
accompanied by strong winds, has been affecting Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore,
and other parts of Punjab.
In addition, the CAA has recently introduced new guidelines addressing
complaints related to Passenger Name Record (PNR) discrepancies.

The
authority has directed airlines to ensure that no passenger is denied boarding
due to mismatched PNR details between booking and travel. Airlines are now
required to update their PNR policies on their websites to maintain
transparency and prevent future passenger inconveniences.
