DI Khan airport route closed for six months

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), announcing the temporary closure of the Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) airport route for six months.

Route J-183 between Dera Ismail Khan and Islamabad will be inaccessible until December 31, 2024, according to the NOTAM released by CAA.

The decision has been communicated to Air Traffic Control (ATC) to ensure compliance.

Earlier discussions at the CAA headquarters regarding airport outsourcing saw strong opposition from Employee Unions of the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan (CAA).

During the meeting, union representatives expressed firm opposition to the outsourcing initiative, highlighting concerns about the potential implications.

International Finance Corporation (IFC) officials present at the meeting engaged with union representatives to better understand their objections.
