Pakistan remembers 1965 war pilot M M Alam on his death anniversary
Today marks the 11th death anniversary of the esteemed 1965 War
Hero, Muhammad Mahmood Alam, affectionately known as M M Alam. Renowned for his
valor in the Pakistan Air Force, Alam became a legend during the 1965 Pak-India
war.
Flying an F-86 Sabre, Alam achieved extraordinary feats by downing
five Indian warplanes in less than a minute, contributing to a total of nine
aerial victories during the conflict.
Alam holds a special place in Pakistan's history as the first-ever
fighter pilot for the Pakistan Air Force, honored prominently in the hall of
fame at the PAF Museum in Karachi.

Acknowledged as a national hero, Alam's exceptional performance in
the 1965 war earned him the prestigious 'Sitara-e-Jurat' and the BAR medal.
Sadly, Alam passed away in Karachi on this day in 2013 at the age
of 77 after battling illness.
On this solemn occasion, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee
and Services Chiefs have paid homage to the memory of Air Commodore Mohammad
Mahmood Alam, saluting his bravery and contributions to the nation during the
1965 war.
