Pakistan delegation visits China to bolster cooperation in space exploration
A delegation from Pakistan, led by Mohammad Yousuf Khan, Chairman
of the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, embarked on a
significant visit to China's Deep Space Exploration Laboratory in Hefei.Their
aim was to bolster the existing space partnership between the two countries,
particularly in the realm of deep space exploration.
During their visit, discussions were held between the Pakistani
delegation, headed by Mohammad Yousuf Khan, and Wu Weiren, Director of the Deep
Space Exploration Laboratory, focusing extensively on upcoming deep space
exploration missions. Engineers from China's Chang’e-8 mission also participated
in the meetings.

Wu Weiren provided an overview of China's advancements in lunar
and planetary exploration missions, highlighting the collaborative inclusion of
Pakistan's ICUBE-Q CubeSat on the Chang’e-6 mission. This collaboration was
emphasized as laying a robust foundation for international lunar scientific
research cooperation.
Mohammad Yousuf Khan introduced Pakistan's proposed collaborative
projects for the Chang’e-8 mission, expressing eagerness to further enhance
bilateral cooperation in lunar exploration.

Furthermore, discussions revolved around the establishment of an
International Society for Deep Space Exploration by the laboratory. This
initiative aims to create a platform for scientific research and academic
exchanges in lunar and planetary exploration, with a focus on significant
engineering tasks. Pakistani scientists were warmly welcomed to join this
society, with an invitation extended to participate in China's Space Day in
April and the upcoming Tian Du International Conference later in the year.
The visit by the Pakistani delegation to China's Deep Space
Exploration Laboratory signifies a deepening of space cooperation between the
two nations. The discussions held during the visit are expected to pave the way
for future collaborations in deep space exploration, thereby contributing to
scientific knowledge and technological advancements for both countries.
