Advisor to the Pakistani Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Engr Amir Muqam has underscored the need for starting direct flights between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking at a function in Islamabad, the SAPM said both countries have great potential to cooperate in the fields of mutual interest, especially in tourism.

“I have visited Kyrgyzstan so many times that I believe it has become my second home. It is beautiful and I ask all of you to visit it once in your life. I expect the same from the Kyrgyz people”, he said.

Engr Amir Muqam said Pakistan has everything to grab the attention of foreign tourists. From majestic mountain ranges in the north to the beautiful Indian Ocean in the south, Pakistan is full of scenic beauty, he said.

He recalled that in the past, Pakistan has helped her Kyrgyz brethren in combating COVID-19.

Talking about the economic ties, Engr Muqam said trade is of great importance for the growth of the two economies.

He highlighted that last year Pakistan’s exports to Kyrgyzstan stood at around $2.81 million, most of which consisted of pharmaceuticals products followed by sports goods.

He pointed out that more than 15,000 Pakistani students were enrolled in various universities in Kyrgyzstan with 11,000 studying in medical universities and colleges alone.
