Pakistan International Airlines
(PIA) has announced a series of special flights for pilgrims traveling to Iraq
on the occasion of Arba’in 2025—one of the largest annual religious gatherings
observed by Shia Muslims.
According to a statement issued by
the national carrier, special flights will operate from August 8 to August 11
from Pakistan to Najaf, Iraq. Return flights are scheduled between August 18
and August 23.

PIA has set the round-trip fare at $675
per passenger, sources confirmed. However, several pilgrims and religious
travel groups have urged the airline to reduce ticket prices and increase the
number of flights to accommodate the growing demand.
Traditionally, hundreds of thousands
of Pakistani pilgrims travel to Najaf via road through Iran. However, following
recent restrictions on overland travel to Iraq and Iran, the government has
directed PIA to enhance air connectivity for Arba’in pilgrims.
