Pakistan, Romania explore launching direct flights and aviation collaboration

A high-level delegation comprising PIA representatives and Pakistani aviation stakeholders is expected to visit Romania soon
 

PIA officials, Romanian Embassy staff meet to discuss cooperation in aviation  

Senior officials from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the Romanian Embassy met in Islamabad to explore enhanced aviation cooperation, including the launch of direct flights and Romanian investment in Pakistan’s aviation maintenance sector.

PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Amir Hayat and General Manager Asif Zia held talks with Romanian Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu, focusing on potential collaboration in direct air connectivity and involving Romanian firms in Pakistan’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry.

As part of the initiative, a high-level delegation comprising PIA representatives and Pakistani aviation stakeholders is expected to visit Romania for business-to-business engagements and consultations with aviation authorities.

Ambassador Stoenescu praised the efforts of the Pakistan-Romania Business Council (PRBC) in advancing bilateral economic ties. Atif Farooqi, PRBC’s Advisor and Chief Operating Officer, noted that Romania’s anticipated entry into the Schengen Area would further boost trade, tourism, and investment between the two countries.
