PIA to keep same design and logo of its aircraft 

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has clarified recent reports about changes to its logo and aircraft design, stating that no modifications are planned for the national flag carrier’s branding.

A PIA spokesperson affirmed that the airline's iconic logo, representing Pakistan’s national flag, will remain unchanged. All design-related decisions, the statement emphasized, are subject to approval by the board and relevant government ministries. Additionally, the spokesperson confirmed that no adjustments have been made to the aircraft tail flag or overall design.

Leadership Updates

Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PIA. His appointment, approved by the Prime Minister, follows recommendations from the PIA Board of Directors. He succeeds Khurram Mushtaq, who previously held the position on an interim basis.

Fleet Expansion and Upgrades

PIA continues its efforts to enhance its operational capacity. Recently, the airline added another long-grounded ATR aircraft to its fleet, a move aimed at boosting flights to destinations such as Gilgit, Sukkur, Turbat, and Gwadar.

Looking ahead, the airline has plans to further expand its fleet once restrictions imposed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency are lifted. The number of Airbus A320s is expected to increase to 12, while the ATR fleet will grow to two aircraft.

Operational Improvements

PIA is also focused on improving its network and service quality. The airline aims to introduce new international routes and provide affordable travel options for overseas Pakistanis. Notably, PIA’s on-time performance has exceeded 90%, making it one of the most reliable carriers in the country.

This strategic approach underscores PIA’s commitment to maintaining its legacy while driving growth and operational excellence.
