SECP registers “Air Karachi” as
Pakistan's new airline
Karachi’s business community has
unveiled plans for a new airline, "Air Karachi," marking a fresh
chapter in Pakistan's aviation sector. Sources confirm that the airline has
officially been registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of
Pakistan (SECP), with its operating license expected to be granted soon.
The launch of "Air
Karachi" comes in response to increasing dissatisfaction with the services
of the national carrier. According to Hanif Gohar, the former Senior Vice
President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(FPCCI), the airline has already submitted an application for its operating
license to the federal government.

will begin operations with a fleet of three leased aircraft. The airline will
be led by Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Imran, who will serve as CEO. Prominent
business leaders such as Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Arif Habib, and S.M. Tanveer are
among the key shareholders, with additional support from other influential
figures in Karachi’s business community, including Bashir Jan Muhammad, Khalid
Tawab, Zubair Tufail, and Hamza Tabani.
With strong backing from Karachi’s
business elite, "Air Karachi" is poised to enter the market,
promising to enhance Pakistan's aviation services and address current industry
gaps.
