Oman's low-cost carrier launches Muscat to Islamabad flights

SalamAir, Oman's low-cost carrier, has launched its Muscat to Islamabad route, marking its entry into the Pakistani market. The inaugural flight, OV564, landed in Islamabad at 2:55 a.m. on Tuesday with 203 passengers onboard.

The event was celebrated with a traditional water cannon salute and a cake-cutting ceremony attended by the Omani ambassador and the COO/Airport Manager.

According to Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), SalamAir plans to operate five flights weekly between Islamabad and Muscat.

This expansion follows the airline's earlier ventures into Pakistan, with services already established in Sialkot, Multan, Karachi, and Peshawar.

In October 2023, SalamAir initiated its first flight from Muscat to Peshawar, solidifying its presence in Pakistan as a key regional operator.
