No airport to be privatized, PCAA clarifies
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has categorically
said that no airport of the country is being privatized and the purpose of
outsourcing of services is to increase quality only.
According to a spokesperson of PCAA, media reports about
the privatisation of the country’s airports are “contrary to the fact”.
There have been speculations in media that airports of the
country are being privatized after government
approved outsourcing of operations at Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore
airports late last month.
The spokesperson said the government wants to bring the
quality of the country’s airports to the global level and bring its benefits to
the people.
